About Michael Coombs
Michael began his career in the funding world in 1996 with the Fund For Public Interest Research. While there, he worked closely with a number of non-profit groups such as GAPIRG, the Sierra Club, Save the Children, Human Rights Campaign, and Greenpeace. In 2003, he moved over to the Democratic National Committee where he led the fundraising effort for the 2004 presidential campaign. In 2004, Michael signed on with SD&A, a firm specializing in fund procurement services for arts organizations in the major metropolitan areas nationwide, where he worked on accounts for the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, the Alliance Theatre, the Hertz Theatre, the Georgia Shakespeare Festival, and the Atlanta Ballet. During this time, Michael worked simultaneously as Vice President of sales for a national business consulting firm. In 2007, LAUNCHfn recruited Mr. Coombs to take over the vigorous screening of companies wishing to join NBA&I and, further, to develop relationships between those companies and the investors that comprise the NBA&I community.
