About Joseph Bernardini, M.D.
Dr. Bernardini is a board-certified Orthopedic Surgeon, practicing in his hometown of Vineland for 28 years. He received his medical degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago, where he is past president and member of the alumni association. He served his orthopedic residency at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia. Dr. Bernardini is currently on the Board of Trustees at Rush University, named one of the top ten orthopedic hospitals in the country. He is the founder of the South Jersey Center for Orthopedics, Director of Orthopedics at Vineland Developmental Center since 1979, a member of the Joint Care Center and serves as the Vineland High School team physician. He serves on staff at both Vineland and Elmer divisions of the South Jersey Regional Medical Center. He is one of only two surgeons in this area to perform kyphoplasty* and other spinal surgeries. Dr. Bernardini is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the Cumberland County Medical Society, New Jersey Medical Society, Orthopedic Surgeons of New Jersey, Philadelphia Orthopedic Society and the Eastern Orthopedic Association.
*Kyphoplasty is a minimally invasive spinal surgery procedure. It is used to treat painful progressive vertebral body collapse/fracture (VCFs).
